The Spirit of the Stitch
Alicia De La Cruz is an enrolled member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and a descendant of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Alicia has been beading since the age of 7 and she was taught traditional beadwork from her aunts and grandma on her mother's side. She currently pays homage to her heritage by beading and drawing traditional Ojibwe florals with a modern twist. Alicia hopes to inspire future Indigenous generations through her artwork and designs.
